Plastic buttons are the most used buttons since the industrial revolution of the 19th century. Due to a wide range of colors, a variety of patterns, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, as well as the possibility of their production in large quantities, plastic buttons are widely used in sewing clothes. You can buy plastic buttons today in absolutely any color and any shape.

They are made from various materials, such as ABS plastic, polyester, acrylic glass (PMMA), nylon, epoxy resin, etc.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a thermoplastic polymer used in the manufacture of plastic buttons. It is a very durable material with high impact and heat resistance.

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), also known as acrylic or acrylic glass, is a transparent thermoplastic material widely used as a shatterproof replacement for glass. Plastic buttons made of PMMA are lightweight, durable, transparent, easy to color and highly resistant to UV and weathering.

Durable, highly malleable polyester can mimic just about any material, even all-natural materials such as horn. This is the most popular plastic button in the world. Preference for polyester buttons and other materials is approximately 10: 1. The popularity is also influenced by the fact that you can buy plastic polyester buttons at a very affordable price.

The scientific name for nylon is polyamide. Due to their high mechanical strength, plastic nylon buttons are often made with a foot. They are initially white, but easily stainable. For example, after mixing pearl powder, nylon material and injection molding, the buttons will have a charming pearl shine. Nylon is resistant to most organic solvents and is durable: plastic buttons can be dry cleaned and washed with clothing.

How are h2lastic buttons made?

To make plastic buttons, liquid polyester mixed with dye is poured into large rotating metal cylinders. After hardening, sheets or rods are formed and buttons are cut, holes are drilled, the products are polished and laser processed.

Epoxy plastic buttons are made by a slightly different, commonly used molding method. The surface of the rolling roller is coated with resin, hardened and then pressed into a mold. Due to the manufacturing difference, the surface of the resin plastic buttons looks cleaner and brighter, and the buttons themselves are thicker and heavier than conventional plastic buttons.
